Lynroy Longsworth is Taken Down in a Hail of Bullets on Mahogany Street

The spate of gun violence in the Lake Independence area continues unabated, despite the fact that the Commissioner of Police has gone on record to state that additional measures will be put in place to stem the recent gang flare up in that community.  This afternoon, Lynroy Longsworth became the latest victim of an armed attack as he drove his vehicle along Mahogany Street.  He came under gunfire in the vicinity of JB’s Hardware Store causing him to collide into a parked vehicle on the left side of the street.  When the shooting subsided, Longsworth had been mortally wounded inside his dollar van.  The motive of the shooting is still being ascertained as police are investigating this latest homicide to determine whether there is any connection with the other incidents that have erupted in the area since Monday evening.  Lynroy Longsworth made headlines in July 2019 when a sizeable haul of marijuana was discovered inside a residence he was renting near mile four on the Philip Goldson Highway.  At the time, the cab driver was arrested and charged for drug trafficking along with his girlfriend.
