Post-mortem Results for Victim of Fatal Fire in Pomona
Last Thursday, we reported on a fire in Pomona Village that claimed the life of Vernon Williams. The forty-five-year-old was inside his house when a fire broke around nine o’clock on the night of December second. It is believed that the fire may have been intentionally set by Williams, but that is still under investigation. A post-mortem, however, was conducted and the findings are shared by Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett.

“A post-mortem was conducted on the body and the findings are that he died from thermal injuries as well as smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is undetermined because of the extent of damages caused by the fire. However, we also learnt that the body was found near a butane gas tank and that he had uttered certain comments to certain people the day in question when the incident occurred.”
