Apples, Apples, Apples this Christmas

The Belize Camping Experience is selling apples this Christmas in order to raise funds to cover the cost of activities, including summer camps or children.  2020 has been an unusual year for many, but the faith-based organization is already looking forward to next year and it is hoping that your support for their fresh apples will help them to realize their annual target.

Leah Perez, Assistant Director, Belize Camping Experience

“So our organization runs off the generosity of Belizeans.  We think Belize has everything we need to make a good impact in our country, so we are appealing to the Belizean people to buy their Christmas apples from us this Christmas season.  The proceeds from this goes to support our programs with the kids throughout the year.  So in a typical year, which 2020 was not, we would be doing children’s programs in the summertime and camps, we had to adopt this year and next year we don’t know what’s going to happen, but we’re already trying new things and getting ready for in-person camps or virtual camps, whatever it can be.  We’re not gonna miss that opportunity to reach the children.  So you can buy your apples, a hundred and ten dollars per box and that helps to support the outreach that we do across Belize.”

“I noticed that this year you’ve partnered up with Caribbean Chicken insofar as trying to get out as many apples across the country.  How has that been going?”

Leah Perez

“Really well.  We are so grateful for the partnership.  Because they have the cold storage that we need, we can get out the best possible product that we can.  These are fresh apples from Mexico, straight from the orchard into your homes.  So we are very grateful that they can help us to give the very best to our people.”
