Pomona Villager Killed in a Hit-and-Run RTA
A hit and run accident has left an elderly Pomona resident dead. Police say that sixty-four-year-old Israel Argueta was riding his bike on Saturday night when a vehicle struck him from behind just before seven-thirty. The cops are now asking the public to assist with the investigation to identify the driver of the vehicle. Here’s more from ACP Joseph Myvett.

“Dangriga Police were called to an area between miles eight and nine on the Stann Creek Valley Road where they observed the apparent lifeless body of Israel Argueta, sixty-four-year-old, on the side of the highway when travelling north. A short distance away from him was a damaged bicycle. What the police know so far is that Argueta was travelling northbound on his bicycle when he was hit from behind by a vehicle causing his fatal injuries. Police are investigating this matter at this time and are seeking the public’s assistance of anyone who has any information that can assist us in this investigation to come forward as so far we have been unable to locate the vehicle or get a proper description of the vehicle or the driver.”
