Banana worker charged with murder at farm
A man from Bladden, Toledo has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a co-worker. 26 year old Roberto Bol Contreras has been arrested and charged with the murder of Julian Zelaya Lopez. Lopez’s body was discovered in a shallow grave covered with cohune leaves on March 13th in the banana fields where he worked. An autopsy later revealed Lopez was strangled. According to police, Lopez, an employee of banana plantation Farm 17, had gone into the fields to work on March 10th, but never returned. Three days later, co-workers found a set of dentures in one of the fields and during a search of the immediate vicinity, found Lopez’s body.
