Major Drug Bust in OW; Police Officer Charged for 40 Pounds of Weed
There was another major drug bust in the north. Over forty pounds of compressed weed was seized and to make matters worse, a police officer has been arrested for the crime. Just before one p.m. today, a joint police operation led officers to a white Jeep parked on the compound of a private business establishment in Orange Walk. There, they observed Police Constable Dion Danielo Bellini of the Maya Mopan area in Belmopan. According to an official report from police, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two suitcases in which thirty-three parcels of cannabis, which amounted to eighteen point two-five-eight kilograms or just over forty pounds. Bellini has been arrested and charged for “Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply to Another.”
