Minor Died from Acute Respiratory Distress
Police are still investigating Myron Itza’s death, the fourteen-year-old minor from San Jose Succotz who was discovered dead inside a bedroom on New Year’s Day. A post-mortem confirmed that the child died as a result of acute respiratory distress. When we reached out to the family today, they were understandably distraught. They are perplexed by Myron’s caused cause of death. According to police, they have taken samples for further analysis. At this time, all that is known is that Myron snuck out of his parents’ house on New Year’s Eve. He went to his friend’s, Jose Puc’s house. Puc told police that Myron was drinking alcohol and went to sleep in the bedroom, but hours later, he was discovered dead in a seated position on the bed.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Sometime after two a.m. was when he granted Itza permission to go into his bedroom to sleep. So far, a number of items which we believe are important to the case was retrieved from the home of Puc and he has been detained and interviewed in relation to this investigation.”
