Bicyclist killed in accident
A man on a bicycle was killed Monday on the Western Highway during a crash. However, 57 year old Martin Ortega wasn’t hit by a car or truck, but a motorcycle. Police say the collision occurred between miles eight and nine around 5:00pm. Ortega who lives at mile eight was heading west and trying to cross the highway just as 62 year old John Frampton Sr. reached the spot on his way to Belize City. The bike was smashed to pieces and although Ortega was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital he died. Frampton was also admitted and is in stable condition.
