Three More Bales Discovered – a Total of 28 Bales Recovered from Plane’s Cargo!
Meanwhile, over the weekend, the police discovered an additional three bales of cocaine. Police reportedly went looking in the Crooked Tree Lagoon, and there they found the bales of drugs which contained a total of ninety packets. The drugs are from the drug plane that landed last week Friday. You’ll recall we told you that police recovered twenty-five bales the day the plane landed, twenty-three at the crash site and two bales on the boat with the detained men. These three bring the total to twenty-eight. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says that he is confident that the cops recovered the majority of the cargo onboard the plane.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“We conducted search of the Crooked Tree Lagoon on Saturday and we found an additional three bales. Each bale containing thirty packs and so that is an additional ninety packs and so that will bring our total amount to twenty-eight bales or nine hundred and forty bricks. You would know that each brick would contain one kilo or in some cases they have more than a kilo so it would bring the total find to over two thousand pounds of cocaine.”

“Sir, what led to that search on the lagoon?”
Chester Williams
“Well it is just a matter of us ensuring that we search the area properly. It could have been that when the police approached the persons on the boat, they may have thrown those three bales out of the boat prior to the police capturing them. I can say that from the size of the plane that came in, which is a small twin-engine plane, they could not have gone with too much. We believe that we were able to find over seventy-five percent of what that plane could have brought in. So, whatever they took with them is not the bulk of what came in.”
