Y.W.C.A. has its annual Open House on Saturday
If you are looking for good family fun this weekend, then you can head to the YWCA which is hosting its annual Open House and Sports Day. The event serves as a fundraiser for the institution and promises much entertainment and family fun. Public Relations Chair for the Y, Anne-Marie Williams, stopped by our studios today to tell us what this Saturday will be all about.

“Tomorrow’s open house is just to have the family come out and have a fun filled day at the Y. There’ll be lots of food, drinks, a variety of pastries and cakes. There’ll be basketball and volleyball. Those who are interested in taking part in the basketball game can bring their teams. First place will receive two hundred dollars and the second, a hundred dollars and who can’t use some money in this time? It’s also a time when Belizeans can tour the booths. The Y.W.C.A. has a number of Programs on. One that’s on is the Rural Sustainable Livelihood Program whereby women from the Cayo District are there learning a variety of skills including food preparation. They will have their booth and some of the things that they have made on display.”
Opening ceremonies begin at ten a.m. and activities run throughout the day until six in the evening. Entrance is free.
