Arthur Roches gave one of the shortest speeches recorded
And while Cardona was critical of his government’s performance in his area, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health, Arthur Roches proved to be a man of few words with the shortest speech of the day: sixty seconds tops.
Arthur Roches, Minister of State in the Ministry of Health
“Like my colleagues on this side of the isle and on behalf of my constituency, those people that have sent me here to look after the affairs, I fully support this budget. I’ll like to also to thank the Prime Minister and his highly trained and experienced staff for putting together this budget given the scarce resource we have at our command and we in Cabinet fully know it and our opponents know the financial conditions under which they left us. I must assure my constituents and this stretches from ten miles, the Hope Creek into Dangriga and the surrounding areas that there’s enough in this budget to go around for each constituency and it’s our duty to lobby with our colleagues who have lined ministries with finances under their control to see what we can ferret out for them for the development of our constituency and I will assure them that I will do that to their benefit. I thank you, Mr Speaker.”
