Taiwanese Embassy Gifts Ministry of Human Development 523 Bales of Fabric
Today, the Taiwan Embassy handed over five hundred and twenty-three bales of fabric to the Ministry of Human Development, Families, and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs. It was a donation from the Taiwan Embassy in Belize at the cost of ninety-four thousand six hundred and two dollars. The donation includes polyester, rayon, and spandex, distributed to women’s groups and entrepreneurs across the country by the Women and Family Support Department. The aim is to support the income-generating activities of women and entrepreneurs by providing an opportunity for the creation, marketing, and distribution of a variety of quality, authentic Belizean products made from the fabric. Present for the donation’s handing-over were Minister Dolores Balderamos Garcia, Minister of State Gilroy Usher, Taiwanese Ambassador Remus Li-Kuo Chen, and other representatives from the ministry.
