Vehicle Driver in Fatal Accident to be Charged
Last Tuesday night, a traffic accident on the Stann Creek Valley Road claimed the life of twenty-six-year-old Arita Vanzie. The Roaring Creek resident was travelling along with three other persons inside a Chevy Impala car when the driver, Customs Officer Deon Castillo, lost control of the vehicle, ran into a ditch, and hit a culvert. Vanzie died while receiving treatment at the Southern Regional Hospital. Today, police confirmed that all other victims have been released from the medical facility and that the driver has been served with a notice of intended prosecution.

“The post-mortem is scheduled for later today; all those persons involved in the traffic accident have since been released from the hospital. The driver has since been served with a notice of intended prosecution pending the post-mortem results and thereafter, it is expected that charges will be levelled against him.”
