Body of a Missing Man Found in Shallow Grave

The body of a Hispanic man was discovered in a shallow grave off the Hummingbird Highway just outside Belmopan near the Pollack Farms. The body has been identified as a man who has been missing for some time now. Early this morning, police were called out to the area for the gruesome discovery of a decomposing body. This afternoon, when we spoke with Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, he shared the preliminary information with the media.

“Sometime around 9:00 a.m., a group of hunters came across a shallow grave somewhere around mile 44 and 43 on the Hummingbird Highway. Police visited the area, dug the shallow grave and they came across the body of a male Hispanic person. The body has been identified, but I am not sure if the next of kin has been informed so I am not going to reveal the name at this time. But the police are in direct communication with the family members and are investigating that matter.”
