Floyd Carter Jr. is Murdered in Lord’s Bank

A third death for the Carter family in three months – it is a tough time for the family as they now have to bury two relatives; an uncle who died just this past Sunday and now a son, who was callously executed on Tuesday night.

Kadisha Carter, Sister of Deceased

“I just screamed out and I say no, I couldn’t believe it because we just bury my pa. We just bury my pa. And then his uncle just passed on Valentine’s Day so it is like the family got two deaths back to back; well yo could call it three because not even three months good my pa dead.  Something so shocking like this like gunshot, it’s rough. We just di try be strong fi my lee bredda dehn. They fraid, dehn traumatise.”

“Nunchie,” as he was affectionately known, was no stranger to law enforcement. In fact, it is believed that the murder of his father, Floyd Carter Senior, was because he was caught up in the criminal justice system.

“We know that from the time his father was killed last year, the police had followed several leads and the information that we had received earlier was that his son was the target and because they couldn’t get him, they got his father who was on the canal side on that night. But last night, Mister Carter was just coming from his girlfriend’s residence and was walking along with one of his brother-in-law when they were surprised by a male person who came out with a firearm and fired shots at his direction. Unfortunately, he lost his life there and then.”

“He neva come to me like that, like somebody threaten ih life, but he knew his life was in danger. Prior to that, on his Facebook story he was posting, we all say he was feeling it because one of his post was he wonder if god woulda forgive him for all the sins he do. And he just said that he mi di feel his death and stuff like that. And honestly from my pa past, it’s like we lose my bredda too because he mi di blame fi he self.”

But was Floyd Carter Junior lured to his death? While at the family house in Hattieville, the nineteen-year-old father of one received a phone call and instead of heading to Cayo, he went to Lord’s Bank, where he has recently been frequenting.

“He noh even fi mi deh deh. He tell we lie. He say he gwen somewhere else and we noh even know weh he gone do deh. Only he could tell yo weh he gone do deh and dead man tell no tales. So we could just go by weh the streets could tell yo as well because we noh really know weh happen.”

Supt. Alejandro Cowo

“He had previously had some dispute with the common-law-wife, or girlfriend as I would call it, and that he was detained by police and later released because the female did not make a complaint. So that’s one of the leads that we are following that that could be a possible motive as to why he was shot.”

Kadisha Carter is the eldest sister of the deceased. She told News Five that it’s a rough time for the family as this is yet another traumatic incident that they are trying to overcome.

“Honestly Duane, it’s hard. I cry so much, I don’t feel I have no more tears in me. I noh know weh dehn gunman think when dehn go do stuff like that. I just want know; unu noh got family? Unu noh got wah ma, wah sister, bredda? How unu could be so cold.”

Two persons have been detained for question in this latest homicide. Duane Moody for News Five.
