Leader of the Opposition Says Commission of Inquiry is a Witch Hunt!
Today, the Opposition called a press conference to sound off on issues of national importance including the Commission of Inquiry. Leader of the Opposition Patrick Faber says the commission is on a witch hunt and has failed to show that there was a fire sale of government assets. He says that that three serviceable vehicles brought into question before the commission don’t constitute a fire sale. He also defended his deputy party leader Hugo Patt who was before the inquiry today.
Patrick Faber, Leader of the Opposition
“If it is what they say we would have to be alarmed but we don’t know that that is necessarily the case and we will do our own internal investigation in the party to see if that was indeed the case but as you know that inquiry is now a full out witch hunt. Remember, and this is what we shouldn’t lose sight of – the intent of the inquiry is to find out whether there was fire sales of government assets. With all that has gone on, what you bring up, we cannot move beyond three government vehicles that were serviceable being sold? I think it is unfair to saddle all of that on the deputy at this point but the commission continues its work but I am not sure that we can hold any value given the exposure that they are clearly politically witch hunting.”
