Fostering Longer Stays by International Visitors

Anthony Mahler

The Ministry of Tourism and Diaspora Relations is also looking at the competitiveness of Belize as a long stay destination within the region. Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism & Diaspora Relations

“All destinations throughout the world will want to get their share of the market so we have to be ready and so we are looking at our competitiveness as a destination as we move forward. We are looking at two programmes, a long stay programme and the qualified retirement programme whereby we are adjusting those legislations to invite people to come and work here, digital nomads, and retired persons, who want to come to Belize to retire.
