BTL opens Ladyville Office
Today, Belize Telecommunications Limited expanded its service in the Ladyville area, opening its new office. Previously the office was housed inside the exchange building. Today, residents of the area will be able to get their transactions done in a far more spacious and comfortable environment. Lisa Shoman, BTL’s chairman says the expansion is all part of the company’s commitment to better serving all communities.
Lisa Shoman, Chairman, BTL
“It is a hallmark of our intention to be competitive in Belize for a very long time and that we continue our push to expand always into new areas and to upgrade our facilities and to demonstrate in a very concrete way, excuse the pun, our commitment towards improving customer service in all emerging communities in Belize.”
Maxwell Samuels, Min. of Communications
“It is my hope, I wish that this new office building will come to be recognized for warm and cordial reception it offers to those who visit it and for the quality of service it provides. Too often the Belizean public has complained about the quality of service that is offered in both public and private sector business offices. Let us resolve to work hard to erase this perception of the Belize people.”
Recently BTL made several improvements in the Ladyville area, an area that is growing rapidly. A Digital Loop Carrier (DLC) installed near the Burrell Boom Road will allow two hundred and forty customers telephone access. An installation of a wireless system will allow residents in Lords bank, Los Lagos and the Lake Garden Area to receive additional lines. BATSUB, the British Army Training Support Unit will be receiving an upgrade of its copper links and will eventually be switched over to a DLC fibre link. The company says other projects to come on line include a wireless installation for the Airport Terminal building and a cable plant extension in the Lord’s Bank Area.
