Bringing Down the Hammer on Youth Criminals
The Behaviour Modification and Conflict Management Services falls under the scope of the Department of Youth Services which finds the urban gun violence flare up concerning. But Deputy Director and Officer in Charge at D.Y.S., Kevin Cadle says that while they are providing wraparound services for at-risk youth, those who want to live a life of crime will be dealt with by the law.
Kevin Cadle, Deputy Director, Department of Youth Services
“When it comes to at risk young persons, it is both legislative and programmatic. Legislative means that the law comes into play and we will provide all the support necessary. I spoke to Chester this morning, the Commissioner of Police, to give him the support that he needs because we do know that some young persons are just not about change. And we are saying if you don’t want to change, then we want the arm of the law to deal with you with full effect.”
