Toddler killed in P.G. traffic accident

A two-year-old died in a traffic accident on the Punta Gorda/San Antonio Road on Monday night. Police say a truck carrying cement and driven by Felipe Conrad Munoz of Melchor de Mencos, Guatemala collided with a van driven by William Vellar of Forest Home Village between miles three and four around seven p.m. Two-year-old Darrel Parham and seventeen-year-old Marva Cofius were traveling with Vellar at the time. Parham was pronounced dead on arrival at the P.G. Hospital and Cofius received minor injuries. Vellar was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and is in serious condition. Police have detained Munoz, who received minor injuries, for questioning.
