Verdict Soon in George Street Boss Murder
Justice Antoinette Moore, who presides over the southern session of Supreme Court trials, is expected to hand down a ruling shortly on the murder trial of thirty-three-year-old Nicholas Swazo. The crown and the defense wrapped up closing arguments recently in the trial and a date and time will be set for a verdict. Swazo was on trial for killing George Street gang boss, Gerald ‘Shiny’ Tillett in April of 2016 at the Wadani Shed in Dangriga. Swazo was also shot twice in his back in that crossfire between him and Tillett. In 2015, Swazo was acquitted of the murder of Mennonite businessman, Wendell Reimer, who was killed during a robbery at his business, Eagle One Hardware. That incident happened at mile four and a half on the Philip Goldson Highway in 2011.
