Taxi driver accused of cruelly beating 9 month old baby
In the Magistrates’ Court, a taxi driver was today charged with Dangerous Harm. Police allege that twenty-three year old Andy Cruz beat his nine month old daughter, almost killing her. No plea was taken because the offence is indictable and Cruz was offered bail of six thousand dollars without objection from the prosecution. The case was adjourned until May eleventh. Approximately six o’clock on Saturday evening, Cruz picked up the baby from his ex-girlfriend’s house on Johnson Street. While in the vehicle, Cruz is said to have beaten the child and then took her to the K.H.M.H. The doctor who examined the baby said she had two injuries to the head—one on each side—and he classified them as Dangerous Harm. But Cruz disputed that report and claimed in court that when he got the child from her mother, she was crying and she wasn’t moving. He says that he then noticed the injuries and took his daughter to the hospital.
he should be in jail for life
I agree with your comment. He should be sanctioned to the fullest extent possible by the court of law. The children are the backbone of or society, and if they are constantly being abused, the future of our country will be opaque.
