Jeremy Leslie Cleared of Piracy Charges
A man arrested with accused pirates in Honduras was today allowed to rejoin his family after it was discovered there is no evidence linking him to the rest of the alleged pirates or to the crimes for which they are charged. Jeremy Leslie was reportedly in another room at the same hotel where the men were intercepted. Leslie was charged with an immigration offence, but was nonetheless grouped with the others, photographed and additionally charged jointly with them. Then on Monday police tacked on another charge of handling a stolen boat engine against him. But after the D.P.P. reviewed the file against him, they found no evidence to link him to any of the piracy charges, and Leslie was released today.
