The Brothers Gamboa Assault Fellow Police Officer in Dangriga

A physical altercation between two officers at the Dangriga Police Station on Tuesday has led to charges being brought against siblings Akeem and Kenrick Gamboa.  It is reported that the brothers entered the precinct following the confiscation of a pair of motorcycles from the New Site area earlier in the day.  A scuffle ensued shortly after another officer identified as Corporal Chuc approached the men concerning the bikes.  The incident which raised the ire of ComPol Williams was captured on video and is being circulated online.  PC Gamboa, we understand, is being charged for assaulting a fellow officer, among other offences.

“I must say that the video is pretty much disheartening, to say the least.  The conduct depicted in that video footage is not what we promote as a department, as a law enforcement organization.  And so when we see members of our organization acting in such a way it is surely concerning to us.  And so I have directed the Professional Standards Branch to look into that matter and both police officers will be dealt with and I must say that if you were to review your archives, you will see that PC Gamboa has constantly been a pain in the butt and something needs to be done.  I don’t think his behavior is compatible with that of a police officer and so I have directed P.S.B. to do what needs to be done so that we can deal with this matter as quickly as we possibly can.”
