Benque burglary suspect caught by cops
A burglar in Benque Viejo got away with some major loot over the Christmas holidays but today the suspect is in custody. Twenty-eight year old Nelson Hernandez has been charged with burglary and handling stolen goods after police found seventy-eight thousand dollars worth of jewelry buried in the backyard of his home. The jewelry is the property of Samuel Bruce, proprietor of the Belize Jewelry Institute on Arenal Road. Bruce told police that the jewelry was taken from his office some time between the twentieth and twenty-sixth of December.
