P.G. man charged with rape
A Punta Gorda man has been arrested and charged with rape. According to a police release, twenty-three year old farmer Edzel Lopez visited the home of a twenty-eight year old Guatemalan woman at around five on Boxing Day morning and asked to borrow a hammer and a blanket. She reported to police that when she brought the items to Lopez’s house he grabbed her, pulled her into the house and raped her. Lopez remains in custody while investigations proceed.
