Jealousy appears to be motive in city stabbing
It appears that jealously may be the motive behind a weekend stabbing in Belize City. Twenty year old Emerson Arnold says that around seven p.m. on December twenty-sixth, he and a lady friend were hanging out in an apartment near the Bel-China Bridge when he heard a warning from outside that someone named Denver was on his way up.

“All of a sudden a young man, a little young boy come tell the young lady, look there, Denver is there. And I never get no chance to get up or nothing. And the man just bust in with two big knife and just fire juke, fire juke at my face. Then I block my hand for he no catch my face and then I start to push him with my foot and when I start to holler for Kareem then he end up and run. Then I just get up, run outside and walk to the gas station.”
Q: “You me know this guy from before, this Denver?”

“No, no really. I just me know that he sell seaweed.”
Q: “So you think you get stab because you were talking to this young lady?”
Emerson Arnold
“Hmmm. Yes.”
Emerson Arnold sustained three stab wounds, one to his forearm, another to his side and one in his rear. He remains at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical but stable condition. Denver Willoughby, the man Arnold identified as his attacker, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm.
