Accident claims two lives near Benque

Two Benqueños have died and one remains seriously injured following a head on collision early this morning on the Western Highway. Police reports are that around two a.m. mechanic Steve Williams was driving from San Ignacio to Benque Viejo del Carmen while taxi driver Roberto Gamez was heading in the opposite direction. Between miles sixty-eight and sixty-nine their vehicles crashed leaving Gamez dead behind the wheel and Williams trapped in his car, badly hurt. Francisco Luna Castellanos, who was with Gamez was pulled from the wreckage suffering from severe body injuries. He later died at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Williams remains at the K.H.M.H. undergoing treatment.
