Police looking for check forger
Everyone wants a little extra money this time of year, but three people are under suspicion following allegations they tried to get that cash from someone else’s bank account. An alert member of staff at the Bank of Nova Scotia’s Belama division realized something was wrong when someone came into the branch Monday morning and tried to cash a check for seven thousand dollars drawn on Renaldo Escalante’s account. Escalante was notified and discovered his signature had been forged. Even worse, he discovered two other checks are missing from his checkbook. Police have detained two people, whose names they have not yet released, and are looking for Carlos Monroy, whose name is on the check the individuals tried to cash.
