Negotiations Coming to an End
Vice President Flowers says negotiations between the Joint Unions and G.O.B. representatives over the budget may be coming to an end after three weeks, but the discussion on good governance is far from over.
Dean Flowers, Vice President, PSU
“I would want to think so. I think with each and every meeting we have we are drawing near to the end. When faced with these positions we always have to look at the glass as half full. And so all of these meetings have been productive and throughout all of these meetings we have grown. Our knowledge gas increased and that is what we continue to do. And so I would want to say yes, we are approaching an end to the consultation process as it relates to the budget. But being a lifetime partner with the government of Belize, the discussions surrounding better government, better governance, a reformed public sector, and every other piece of legislation as it relates to UNCAC, those conversations will continue.”
