The Board of Directors of the Belize Electric Company Limited (BECOL) has appointed Kay Menzies as President and C.E.O. of the corporation effective June first.  The appointment follows the retirement of Lynn Young, outgoing President and C.E.O., after a thirty year career in the electricity sector.  Menzies has considerable board experience having held chair and director positions at Belize Port Authority, Belize Trade and Investment Development Service, Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Economic Development Council, and Grace Kennedy (Belize) Limited.  She has also been a director on the board of Belize Electricity Limited.  Lynn Young is taking up a new role as Ambassador Designate to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States and High Commission to Canada.
