St. Vincent and the Grenadines wins Caribbean Song Festival
A singer from St. Vincent and the Grenadines took first place in the Caribbean Song Festival over the weekend. Tyrone Williams received the honor for his song, “Rise Caribbean”. The competition on December fourth was broadcast live throughout the region from Havana, Cuba. Here are some highlights. You may recognize the presenter of the awards as Channel Five’s own Stewart Krohn, President of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union which sponsors the annual competition.

This was the sixteenth Caribbean Song Festival and ten countries had entries. The winner was awarded a one week stay in Cuba and took home a brand new Suzuki Baleno.
