ComPol Warns: If You Have the Drugs, the Cartel Will Come for You

Coast Guard divers are working alongside police to try and locate the main body of a plane that crashed off Belize’s southern coast.  Only portions of the plane have so far been recovered.  The rest, which police believe contained drugs, is still missing.  Now, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says anyone who is in possession of the cargo should surrender it to the police for their own safety.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“It is a deep area. From since this incident occurred on Saturday morning we have been out in the general area conducting searches. We even hired the Astrum Helicopter to do a fly-over of the entire area to see if they would have been able to see the fuselage in the water and then direct us to where it is. But that too was fruitless. Divers from the Coast Guard are currently in the area. We have assistance from members of the public who are coming the entire area to see if we can find the fuselage. It is our hope that the fuselage is still intact and the drugs may still be in it.”

“Suspected?”

“We believe it is drugs; I am not going to hide that. Also we are also looking at the possibility that maybe someone found the fuselage before we got there and towed it somewhere. So there are other things that we are doing. I do not want to go into full details in terms of what we are doing because I don’t want to compromise the investigation. But there are a lot we are doing with a view to locate the fuselage. And I want to appeal to the public if it is that you know of anyone who may have found the fuselage, or found drugs, or if you are, please surrender it to the police. Because if the information get to the cartel that you have it they will come for you.”
