False Report Aims at Disparaging Union Chair
A letter written to the executive of the Public Service Union in November 2020 went into circulation earlier today, purportedly to malign the leadership of the union’s Belize City Branch. The letter follows a financial report put together by a former treasurer of the P.S.U. According to Dean Flowers, the letter, as well as the report, are both misleading and are aimed at disparaging the Belize City chair.
Dean Flowers, 1st Vice President, P.S.U.
“I want to state clearly that that report is a false report, it’s a misleading report and that is not the Belize City Branch report. The Belize City Branch report was prepared and submitted by the former treasurer and that report will be laid before the general membership on Saturday. The report that was put out there is a misleading and false report that came out last year in November 2020, right before the Belize District branch elections. The report was prepared and an accompanying letter was submitted and circulated in the media and to the general membership right before the Belize City elections last year which occurred earlier this year in an effort to mislead and disparage and defame the current Belize City Branch chair. It backfired and it backfired terribly because the Belize City Branch chair was able to defeat those that put out that disparaging report and misleading statement almost three-to-one. And so, I must applaud the good sense that prevailed by the Belize City Branch membership.”
