Enter the September Celebrations Theme and Logo Contest
If you have a way with words, or love to do desktop design, then the National Celebrations Commission has a challenge for you—and you might just win a thousand dollars for your idea. All Belizeans living at home or overseas are eligible. All you have to do is design the winning logo or contribute the best theme for this year’s fortieth anniversary of independence and the two hundred and twenty-third anniversary of the Battle of Saint George’s Caye. The commission says the winning designs will become the official logo and theme that will be used on all media, both material and digital, and merchandise for this year’s celebrations. The guidelines state that themes should be less than ten words and yes, you can submit multiple entries. For logos, these must be original work, consist of three colors or less, and not include any trademarked or copyrighted images. Again, you can submit more than one. The winning entries from each category, logo and theme, will each win a thousand dollars. Submissions can be emailed to: nationalcelebrations@nichbelize.org or dropped off at the Government House on Regent Street, the Bliss Center for Performing Arts on Southern Foreshore in Belize City or at any of the Houses of Cultures in the districts. The deadline is Friday, June twenty-fifth.
