Brother Angry At Sibling Who Does Not Contribute to Family, Is Fined Thousands after Machete Attack
In court news, a man who pleaded guilty to threatening his brother, hacking him with a machete and then chopping up his personal belongings was given until September thirtieth to pay the three fines associated with the offences. This morning Venicio Guevara admitted to Magistrate Audrey Grinage that on June eight, he went to his father’s farm at Spanish Town in Maskall Village and got into a heated dispute with his brother, Donald Guevarra. He admitted that he committed the offences of Aggravated Assault, Damage to Property, and Uttering Threatening Words and said he did it out of frustration and anger because his brother, who lives at home, does not help with bringing in any income to the family. Magistrate gave Guevarra until the end of September to come up with two thousand dollars for the aggravated assault fine, one thousand dollars for damaging his brother’s cell phone and other personal effects, and fifty dollars for threatening him.
