Cayo girl reported missing
While police in Punta Gorda investigate the death of a child, a family in Santa Elena, Cayo is hoping their little girl is still alive. J. Alexander Strohl told news five today that he and his wife have been looking for their ten-year old daughter since October when her grandmother failed to bring her back to their home in time for school. Strohl says sixty-year old Alma Ochoa Madrid came to their home in July and asked if his wife’s daughter Rahab Longsworth could come and spend the rest of the summer with her in Sarteneja. He says they agreed and the girl went, but they never heard from Ochoa or Rahab again. Strohl says when he went to Sarteneja to look for her in October villagers told him the grandmother had never lived there and they had not seen the girl. He says he reported the matter to police in Sarteneja but has not gotten any response so far. He says he later reported the girl missing to Orange Walk police, but they said they had not had any communication from Sarteneja police. Strohl says he and his wife are concerned since the grandmother may be living with a man his wife claims molested her when she was a child. The family is asking the public for help in locating Rahab Longsworth, her grandmother Alma Ochoa Madrid or Jorge Gonzalez. He is asking anyone with information to contact Hershel Lindsay Hardware store in Esperanza. Police tell news five they do not have any record of a missing person’s report being made on the child in October and encourage the family to make a report in San Ignacio or Belize City as soon as possible.
