Forensic expert returns from studies in England
The forensic aspect of fighting crime in Belize has gotten more ammunition. Reynold Budnah has returned to Belize with a Master’s Degree in forensic science from King’s College in London. Budnah completed his postgraduate work and has already begun working with Belize’s forensic services. But before any advanced methods can be put in place, the equipment has to be upgraded. Permanent Secretary Alan Usher says the Ministry is putting together a project proposal to solve that problem as soon as possible. When the upgrade is complete, Budnah and other Belizean forensic experts will be able to identify the origin of blood and semen samples collected and conduct detailed DNA testing.
