Church concert at Commercial Center

If you don’t believe in putting on a mask and going trick or treating for candy, then you won’t be left out this weekend. A concert called, “The Jesus Thing” is well underway in front of the Commercial Center in Belize City. On Thursday concert organizers Robert and Teresa Oliveras stopped by to give us the low down on the concert of high places.

“The origin of Halloween has nothing more to do than the celebration of the Lord of the Dead. We don’t want to celebrate no dead person or no dead thing because the Jesus that we serve, the God that we serve, is well and alive. And we celebrate a live God, therefore “The Jesus Thing” come into place.”

“We are as the Body of Christ. We’re having many, many churches that are coming together with the event, bring candy for the kids because we can have candy. A lot of people think just because you are a Christian and just because you go to church, you can’t have fun. We’ll Jesus is fun and God is fun. Actually God is sometimes hysterical.”

The D-Revelation Band, New Commandment Band, the Heavenlies and the New Nation Dance Group are performing for Belizeans in front of the Commercial Center, right now. There is still time for you to make it out there and see the show.
