Halloween party held for elderly
On every last Thursday of the month, Helpage Belize and the House of Culture organize an event, usually a party, for the elderly. This month was no different and in a festive Halloween spirit, the seniors wasted no time in donning their scariest costumes.
Q: “They look forward to these weekly activities?”
Joyce Trapp
“Yes, they do. When we don’t have it they ask us if we’ll be having any. They love it. As you can see they are all dancing and laughing, and having lots of fun.”
Q: “Why you chose Miss Piggy?”
“Porky Pig”
“Just for fun. That’s my partner over there.”
Q: “Oh, so two piggies?”
“Porky Pig”
“I am the female and she is the male.”
Q: “And you like dressing up?”
“Porky Pig”
“Oh, yes! Oh yes! I like fun.”
Q: “You having fun?”
“Porky Pig”
“Oh yes.”
The trick or treaters received prizes for the scariest costume, the funniest costume and the most original. Organizers say the low turnout was due to the bad weather.
