Man charged with stabbing of Quan brothers
A twenty-year-old laborer from Jane Usher Boulevard has been charged in connection with the stabbing of two brothers and one of their friends shortly after midnight on September twenty-six. Police say Leroy Cocom faces two counts of wounding and aggravated assault for the attack on seventeen year old Michael Quan and his fifteen year old brother Alvin, and charges of aggravated assault against another boy also at the scene. The boys told police they were standing in front of their home in Belize City when a pickup truck approached and a group of men came out and attacked them. The elder boy tried to defend his little brother but was stabbed in the shoulder. The younger boy was cut in the cheek and a friend of his received several cuts to various parts of his body as he tried to run off. The Quan brothers reported that they had left a party earlier that evening to avoid a fight with some of the other guests.
