Second suspect charged with Velasquez’s murder

Police have picked up a second suspect and charged him with the murder of twenty-two year old Devon Velasquez, a musician from Caye Caulker. Punta Gorda police apprehended Kevin Myvette in the Go De Strong Area. Myvette of Neal Pen Road is being jointly charged with Christopher Castillo who was taken in earlier this week, also in Punta Gorda. Velasquez was stabbed and chopped to death on September twenty-sixth on Pelican Street in Belize City. He had reportedly questioned Castillo and Myvette about a stolen walkman and witnesses said the men turned on him. He received thirteen knife wounds to various parts of his body and three machete cuts to his chest.
