Call for Belizean Creatives to Receive Grant Funding

According to Budhrani, any Belizean or Belizean-owned entity is eligible to participate in the grant program as there are no restrictions on age, gender, ethnicity, or any other background.

“Is there any restrictions?  Really and truly, there is no restriction on age, gender, anything.  It’s mainly a creative and innovative idea.  We all know how COVID-19 has affected us economically, socially, so this is more an upliftment, trying to help those who have an innovative idea.  If we look around for grants, if we’ve seen what the government has done, we’ve done items for pantry, for others, for businesses, agriculture, but seldom anything has been done for creators and innovators.  So this is one of them. It’s a thousand dollars, forty persons, celebrating Belize at forty.”

“This is the first of its kind from the National Celebrations Commission and we’re aiming for forty.  The deadline is not September, it’s not August; it all depends on August thirty-first how many applications we’ve received.  If we don’t receive all of them then it would continue on to September, October to November.  If we receive all forty at the first call then all forty would receive it.”
