“This morning we had the handing over of two vehicles and twelve computers, with other computer equipment to the Belize Police Department’s Special Branch. The donation came courtesy of the Taiwanese Embassy here in Belize. I must say that we are very grateful for the donation. It will go a very long way in terms of fighting crime in our country from an intelligence standpoint. We have always been harping about intelligence-led policing. But, intelligence-led policing is always difficult when the intelligence arm do not possess the equipment that they need to be able to gather intelligence and do the work that they are required to do. So, the equipment will surely go a long way in enhancing our ability to fight crime from an intelligence standpoint.”
