John Bodden, Principal Public Health Inspector, Ministry of Health & Wellness
“On Monday, we had visited that location to verify the protocols that are in place and we must tell you that these have exceeded what our minimum standards have established within the country and we are extremely overwhelmed and happy to see what is in place. In fact, at that location, they even have their own health facility to provide on-site treatment of those individuals to a certain level and whenever a passenger may need to have what is there they have made the necessary contraction of different services within the country for movement of their patient from one location to the next. In terms of medical emergency, it’s not only for COVID in this time of COVID itself. But the protocol is there for whenever there is any sort of medical emergencies, and the vessel may not have the necessary competencies or equipment on board to facilitate the necessary services that are required by these passengers. So, that opening went well this morning.”
