Shrimp farm employee struck by lightning
A freak accident appears to have contributed to the death of an employee of the Nova Shrimp Company. Catarino Sho was found dead in one of the ponds at Nova’s Toledo Branch on Independence Day. Jim Hyde of Nova Companies Limited told News Five today Sho was struck by lightning as he maneuvered around the three and a half-foot deep pond in a canoe feeding the shrimp. He drowned after falling into the water, perhaps unconscious. Hyde says it is a company regulation that employees leave the ponds when there is a storm, but Sho apparently wanted to get the job done and stayed out on the pond.
