Belize City child claims man tried to kidnap her
With the anniversary of the death of Sherilee Nicholas fast approaching and the three subsequent child murders still unsolved, most parents are keeping a close eye on their children, especially the girls. However, today the Amandala newspaper reported that a ten-year-old girl claims she was almost abducted Thursday evening. She managed to get away by biting the man who put his hand over her mouth when he tried to pull her into a car. The child’s father told the Amandala he and his daughter had gone to a shop sometime after six thirty, but he sent her home ahead of him because his wife needed the minsa they bought for tortillas she was making. The girl later told him that as she passed the education building a red four-door vehicle with tinted windows pulled up and a man with a stocking mask over his face grabbed her. She said she bit and kicked him and he released her. She ran home and when her father came home they went to the police station. Officers at C.I.B. tell News Five they are still checking out the child’s story.
