Belize City Residents Smacked in Middle of Garbage Impasse

As both CitCo and BWC continue to battle through this garbage crisis; Belize City residents who will have to endure yet another week of their trash not being collected.  The Mayor is asking for understanding.

 “I empathize with them as well, but we are facing the same situation and the people of Belize are left smacked in the middle without their garbage being collected. I want to see more empathy; I want to see more tolerance. We continue to work feverishly with the company to get this resolved. We don’t want to be a party or contributing to people not being able to get rid of those garbage and so we continue to work with them. I ask them to give us consideration. We know the problem that they are facing, we will continue to work for them, but the reality is that we don’t have the funds available to meet the financial obligations of the contract at this moment.”
