PM Briceño Says 150 New Starter Homes
During his Independence Day address on Tuesday, Prime Minister John Briceño announced that over a hundred starter homes are being built to assist single mothers who are first-time homeowners. It’s a campaign promise that falls under the People’s United Party’s Plan Belize manifesto, but can the Briceño administration make good on its word?

“Our planned initial roll out of one hundred and fifty starter homes for first time homeowners, especially single moms, has commenced. Already twenty-two homes are under construction in Cayo, Dangriga, Cow Pen Village and in Belize City. Later this month the construction of thirty more homes for single parents will begin. At the same time some of the dilapidated community houses in Belize City are undergoing much needed repairs.”
