Schools Can Now Apply for Hybrid Learning Mode

Due to the rise in COVID cases, the Ministry of Education is having to step back from a return to fully face-to-face learning, but moving full steam ahead with its plans to reopen schools for hybrid learning on October fourth. In the hybrid instructional mode, students do have some face-to-face instruction, but on shifts. On-site instruction is supplemented using either a learning management platform or a video conferencing tool, or a text/print-based learning resource. Schools are responsible for ensuring that students safely engage in face-to-face learning.  The ministry says qualified schools, who meet all requirements, will be given “Green Light Status” to reopen on October fourth. Criteria include geographic location of school, teacher vaccination status, student vaccination status, physical readiness of school campus, and community context of the school. News Five has confirmed with the C.E.O. in the Ministry of Education that those applications were sent out today.
